Arantxa Rus did not qualify for the quarter finals of the WTA tournament in Bogota on Wednesday.

After a changeable performance, she lost 6-7 (4), 6-2 and 1-6 to Nuria Párrizas Díaz.

Rus was placed third in the clay tournament in Colombia.

As number 83 in the world, she was the favorite in advance against the Spanish number 171.

There was little of that on the track, as Rus immediately lost her first serve.

She dragged another tiebreak out of the fire, but after almost an hour of play, Párrizas Díaz won the first set.

The second set went well for the South Holland.

Rus ran out to a 5-0 lead and took the set without any problems.

Rus then had nothing more to say in the deciding set.

After 2 hours and 14 minutes, Párrizas Díaz stepped off the track as the winner.

Rus is therefore stuck on three victories in 2021. The thirty-year-old tennis star was active in seven tournaments.
