28-year-old Olga Podtjufarova has been away from the big biathlon scene since 2018. Then she, who has taken the World Cup bronze in mixed relay, that she quits.

But her end did not last very long, and in October 2019, Russia approved her change of national team to the Slovenian one.

She waited for 18 months in Slovenia, to no avail.

Podtjufarova's attempt to obtain citizenship in the country failed.

Now she will once again try to push herself into the Russian national team.

And in this weekend's Russian championship in Chanty-Mansiysk, she made her first races in two and a half years.
