The decisive goal was something of a show, where Alexander Wennberg, Frank Vatrano and Gustav Forsling showed fine passing cooperation.

The beautiful preparation ended with a direct shot by the 26-year-old who went in just below the crossbar.

Missing stars

The goal meant a 3-2 win for the home team.

- I did not see myself going in, says Wennberg at the press conference after the match.

- It took a few seconds to react to it.

It's a great feeling, when you see the players smiling come out of the bench.

Florida had to play without centers Vinnie Hinostroza and Aleksander Barkov.

- They are of course star players, but we still have a very good team.

Even if we miss them, we continue to play our game.

We have several (other) really good players who can make a difference, and we have good goalkeeper games.

It's the way it is, you can not do much about injuries, you just have to keep playing, says Wennberg.

"Not always nice"

Florida lost to Detroit in both the first and third periods, but managed to equalize both times.

- Of course, it will not always be nice and it will not always go the way, but if we continue to work and do ours, we will be rewarded, and now we get two points, and that is big, says Wennberg.

Wennberg was not the only Swede to score in the extra time.

Mika Zibanejad continues to show good scoring form and scored the decisive 3-2 goal when the New York Rangers defeated Buffalo.

Saved by the goalkeeper

Buffalo has had a miserable season, but felt some tailwind after breaking an 18-game losing streak the night before Maundy Thursday.

That energy took the team into the first period.

But then it crashed.

Buffalo only managed to get two shots on goal in the second, against Rangers 15. The third period the shots were 21-8.

That Rangers only managed to score two goals, Buffalo can thank goalkeeper Dustin Tokarski for, he kept the team in the game with 44 saved shots,

- The match ran away from us a bit in the second period, it is difficult to say what we specifically did, but we lost a bit from our match plan, what we did well in the first, says Rasmus Asplund, who scored the match's first goal for Buffalo.

With four seconds left of regular time, Buffalo even managed to score an equalizer, saving a point.
