China News Service, April 2nd. A few days ago, the FIFA website announced the 9 host cities and 10 venues for the 2023 Women's World Cup.

Four of the cities hosting the competition are from New Zealand-Auckland, Dunedin, Hamilton and Wellington, and five are from Australia-Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

  FIFA also announced that Auckland will host the opening match of the 2023 Women's World Cup and the Sydney Stadium in Australia will host the final.

Australia and New Zealand will also host a semi-final each, and the full schedule of the 2023 Women's World Cup will be announced later this year.

  When talking about the selection of the host city for the Women’s World Cup in 2023, FIFA President Infantino said: “Identifying 9 host cities is an important milestone for the Women’s World Cup in 2023. It is a great opportunity for players and fans from Australia, New Zealand and around the world It’s also a big deal."

  In 2023, the Women's World Cup will expand to 32 teams, of which 29 will be directly promoted, and the AFC will receive 6 direct promotion places.

  The hosts Australia and New Zealand will advance directly to the finals, and these two seats have been allocated to their respective AFC and Oceania Football Confederations.

The remaining 3 seats will be decided through the play-offs, with at most one seeded team per continent.
