English defender Nathaniel Phillips snatched the award for best player in the team last March from Egyptian Mohamed Salah after he won the majority of the votes of the Liverpool fans.

Salah was the favorite of the month in Liverpool, as he had picked it up in the past three months before Phillips broke the series and claimed the March award.

"It was a nice surprise to me, and obviously a great compliment, the people who voted thought I deserved it. It's really cool to feel this kind of love, and I appreciate it very much," the Liverpool club official website quoted Phillips as saying.
