The Japan Sumo Association officially decided to promote Terunofuji to Ozeki, who won the third victory with 12 wins in the spring place by holding a ranking organization meeting and an extraordinary board meeting.
After this, the messenger of the Sumo Association will head to the Isegahama room in Koto-ku, Tokyo, where Terunofuji is waiting, and a ceremony to convey the promotion of Ozeki will be held.
Terunofuji, who has experience in Ozeki, will return to Ozeki for the first time in 21 places since the fall of 2017.
