Athletes and analysts considered that a difficult task awaits the Sharjah team, during its upcoming participation in the group stage of the AFC Champions League, for the first group, in which the club hosts its matches in the assembly system due to the precautionary measures against the Corona virus, between the 14th and 29th of this month.

In an interview with Emirates Today, they identified five technical challenges that require a great effort from the team to overcome them, while they said that winning the big summit with the leaders of the Arab Gulf League and the owner of great levels, the Bani Yas team next Saturday in the 23rd round, would raise Players' spirits before entering the continental championship.

Sharjah plays in Group Two with the Iranian Tractor and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan, and the winner is from the supplement meeting between the Saudi unit and the Iraqi Air Force.

The athletes said that the psychological preparation of the players has become an important matter before entering the continental championship, in order to regain their self-confidence in the wake of the negative results in the past period, and that the technical, physical and mental preparations must be at the highest level, so that the team achieves the required benefit from the factor of playing on its stadium.

Former Olympic team coach Eid Barout said: "Since the Sharjah Group matches are being held in the Emirates, it is necessary for Sharjah to appear in an honorable manner."

He added, "The competition will be fierce between the competing teams, and Sharjah will lose 20% of the strength that was characterized by it in the local league, due to the absence of resident players, in accordance with the regulations governing the tournament."

"Despite the absence of the team's top scorer, Wilton Suarez, Sharjah has made everyone accustomed to appearing honorably in such tournaments, especially since he appeared in the last edition of the tournament at a good level, and it is hoped that he will return the ball again," Barot said.

He continued, "Our hearts are definitely with the Sharjah team, and with all the Emirati teams participating in the Asian Championship, which represent the Emirates."

For his part, the former coach of Al-Bataih, Tunisian Noureddine Al-Obeidi, affirmed that the players of Sharjah should forget what happened to them in the local league of negative results, and enter the Asian champions with confidence and high spirit, to benefit from the factor of playing at home.

Al-Obeidi explained: "The technical, mental, physical and tactical preparations must be at the highest level, in addition to the necessity to choose the formation and tactical plan well."

Al-Obaidi added, "The competitors must be studied in a scientific way, which helps the team to exploit the opponent's weaknesses, and pay attention to his strengths."

He continued, "We must also take into account the value of the tournament, and the pressure it will mean for the players, as there will be six matches in about 15 days, so there is a lot of work required of the medical system as well."

A member of the technical committee, the former coach of Sharjah's reserve team, Abdul Majeed Al-Nimr, confirmed that "moral and psychological support for the team and its players by the club's management is required at this stage."

He continued, "The players must be motivated to regain their self-confidence again."

He added, "The players should temporarily forget the league championship, knowing that in this tournament they represent the UAE, not just Sharjah."

He stressed that, in terms of digital, Sharjah is still within the competition in the local league, and it is not necessary to surrender to the recent results.
