Eid Naser won the World Cup gold in Doha in October 2019 at 48.14, the third fastest time in history and was already under investigation for failures in his stay reporting.

It is the International Athletics Federation's penalty body Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, which went to the arbitration court Cas in Lausanne to hear Eid Naser April 22-23.

The AIU is appealing the acquittal handed down by an independent panel in London last autumn.

Cas is expected to come with a quick result as the season is just around the corner.

The first 400 meter race in the Diamond League is in Rabat on May 23.

The women's 400 meters at the Olympics in Tokyo will be decided on August 3-6.

A test was backdated

Eid Naser, born in Nigeria but competing in Bahrain, had his misses on March 12 and 16, 2019 and January 24, 2020, making three misses in less than a year.

But the test on March 16 is technically counted as the beginning of the quarter, ie on January 1.

As a result, the three missed tests were counted as just over a year and thus not considered punishable.

- I've never been a cheater and never will be.

I only missed three tests, which is normal, that's what happens, Eid Naser has previously said.

In the event of a conviction, Eid Naser risks being suspended for two years.
