Good news .. England tries the return of the fans in the semi-finals of the Federation Cup

England's Culture Minister Oliver Dowden said on Monday that the FA Cup semi-finals in soccer and the World Snooker Championship will be used as trial events for the return of fans to the stadiums as the restrictions on the Corona virus are eased in England.

The country entered the second phase of the roadmap to gradually lift quarantine restrictions thanks to the largely successful vaccination campaign.

Popular outdoor sports are now allowed to resume, but further easing of restrictions depends on the continued success of the vaccine campaign and infection rates.

One of the two FA Cup semi-final matches at Wembley Stadium next April will be among a number of test events to judge the return of large fans.

Chelsea will play Manchester City on April 17 in the first match of the semi-final round, and Leicester City will meet Southampton the next day in the second match.

The FA Cup Final and World Snooker Championship in Sheffield have also been decided between test events for the crowd, but the full list of all test events has yet to be published.

"We want to bring back as many people as possible as safely as possible," Dawden told the BBC. "We want to make it as simple and comfortable as possible for people. That's why we're doing these pioneering experiments."

"The plan is to look at factors such as one-way systems, ventilation on the field, and how to interact in terms of getting to and from the stadium," he added.

Dowden refused to say how many spectators would be allowed to attend the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.

The third step of easing restrictions, scheduled for May 17 at the earliest, will allow stadiums to be opened with a capacity of up to 25 percent, with a maximum of 10,000 spectators.

The current plan is to lift all restrictions imposed on social media, on June 21.

Wembley Stadium will host seven matches in the European Cup 2020 finals, including the semi-finals on the sixth and seventh of next July, and the final in 11 of it.
