Just like in the qualifiers, it was between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the season's first Grand Prix.
The young Dutchman Verstappen and reigning champion Hamilton took turns leading the race several times.
And with about ten laps left, Hamilton led the race, just over five seconds ahead of Verstappen, but the Red Bull driver approached for each lap he went.
Exciting ending
With four laps left, Verstappen overtook Mercedes driver Hamilton.
But almost immediately afterwards he had to let Hamilton out again.
Lewis Hamilton was able to hold out in the last lap and thus took the first victory of the season.
Max Verstappen was second, 0.75 seconds behind.
Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas took third place.
