A huge page will turn to Angers SCO.

Coach Stéphane Moulin announced this Friday morning that he would leave the club next June, one year from the end of his contract and after ten years non-stop on the bench (406 games).

"I decided to quit at the end of the season," said the 53-year-old coach at a press conference.

I have felt this season as difficult and trying.

I made my decision before the match against Metz [1-0 for the SCO, March 3].

I've been living with it for some time.

This will allow the club to calmly prepare for next season.

It's my decision.

According to

L'Equipe

, the players were warned a few minutes before this announcement.

3565 - Stéphane Moulin has been training Angers for 9 years and 9 months (or 3565 days), which is the longest life for a current trainer in the 5 major European championships.

Leaving.

The current coach with the greatest longevity in Ligue 1 will obviously end the season.

Angers SCO is currently 10th with forty points.

Trained at the SCO, where he was a player from 1984 to 1990, Stéphane Moulin continued his career in Châteauroux then Châtellerault.

He then became a coach at Châtellerault, before being recalled by Olivier Pickeu to take charge of the reserve team, in 2006. In 2011, he was appointed coach of the professional team.

In 2015, after 22 years without an elite, the SCO returned to Ligue 1.
