Masahiro Tanaka, who returned to professional baseball Rakuten for the first time in eight years from the major leagues, has decided to avoid the starting lineup scheduled for 27th by complaining of light tension on his legs.

This was revealed by Kazuhisa Ishii after the practice on the 26th.

According to Ishii, pitcher Tanaka was diagnosed at a hospital in Sendai City after practicing on the 25th, complaining of a slight tension near the calf of his foot.

Director Ishii said, "It's really mild and I'll avoid pitching once or twice. I don't think it's a big injury."

Pitcher Tanaka did not participate in the overall practice of the team before the opening game on the 26th, but he will continue to make adjustments while staying with the 1st army.

Pitcher Tanaka joined the team from the middle of the Okinawa camp last month, and pitched in three open games this month, showing a good adjustment with an ERA of 2.25.
