On the night before Tuesday, 22-year-old Filip Gustavsson from Skellefteå made his first match from the start in the Ottawa jersey.

It was a 2-1 victory and 35 saves for the Swede.

Last night, his Ottawa faced Calgary and Gustavsson got the chance again from the start.

He saved 28 shots and Ottawa won 2-1.

- It was like any match today.

It feels like I did the tough part in the last match, today I was more comfortable, says Gustavsson to Sportsnet.

"He's a good guy"

Gustavsson has now played three games for the Senators.

Before the last two games, he had to step in and replace Joey Daccord who injured himself in the game against Vancouver last week.

- We are really happy for him.

He is a good guy, he comes to work every day and loves to be on the rink.

It's nice to see him succeed, says teammate Josh Norris.

Gustavsson started his career in Skellefteå's junior team.

In 2015, he made his SHL debut, then in Luleå.

The following year, he was drafted by Pittsburgh.

For the past three years, he has played to and fro in Ottawa's grandfather team Belleville Senators.

At the beginning of this season, he was loaned to hockey allsvenska Södertälje before his NHL debut took place last week.
