This is what we call leaving in style.

Evan Fournier's last basket at the Magic will therefore be that of victory against Phoenix.

The Frenchman, who played in Orlando for seven years, will join the Boston Celtics in an immediate transfer, NBA broadcaster ESPN reported Thursday.

At 28, the Frenchman, who took his first steps in the North American league in Denver, is having his best season (19.7 points, 3.7 average assists).

He joins a team which holds with the Lakers the record for the number of league titles (17) and is currently struggling to secure his place in the play-off.

Currently 8th in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics nevertheless remain relatively close to the fourth place occupied by the Hornets.

The 5th Frenchman of the Celtics

Evan Fournier is the fifth Frenchman in history to join the Massachusetts club after Mickaël Piétrus, Jérôme Moïso, Guerschon Yabusele and Vincent Poirier.

But he should undoubtedly be the one who will make the best place there, establishing himself as the third offensive weapon of the C's alongside the two All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
