The Tokyo Olympic torch relay, which has been postponed for one year, will start in Fukushima Prefecture on the 25th.

The torch will travel around the country for 121 days, connecting about 10,000 runners.

The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will have a departure ceremony from 9 am on the 25th at "J Village" in Fukushima Prefecture, which will be the starting point.

The first torchbearer will be 16 members of the Japan Women's National Team "Nadeshiko Japan" who won the 2011 Soccer Women's World Cup, and the relay will start at around 9:40 am with the torch lit by the torch. It's a schedule.

The torch relay will be held for 121 days from the 25th to the opening ceremony on July 23, and will be attended by approximately 10,000 runners in 47 prefectures.

As a countermeasure against the infection of the new corona, the Games Organizing Committee is calling for watching the torch relay live on the Internet and avoiding crowds along the road.

In addition, if the congestion that occurred along the roadside is not resolved, "skip" the place and proceed to the next, or if a cluster occurs in the operation staff, consider canceling the relay on the public road, etc. The policy is to give top priority.

Whether or not a nationwide event can be safely held for about four months in Corona is a major issue in fostering the momentum of the tournament.
