Changjiang Daily News (Reporter Cai Muzi) On the 23rd, Zall Smart City acquired three plots with a planned area of 503,100 square meters in Panlong City at a total land price of 3.967 billion yuan.

The Changjiang Daily reporter was informed that the three plots will build the Airport International Sports Center project, including a world-class football stadium with over 60,000 seats.

This football stadium is expected to become the home stadium of the "Wuhan Team" in 2023.

The above-mentioned land is located in the Airport International Business City of Huangpi District, about 5 kilometers away from Tianhe Airport and about 10 kilometers away from Hankou Railway Station. There are planned rail transit lines such as Line 7, Line 13, and Line 18.

The football field will serve as the main facility of the Airport International Sports Center.

According to the plan, Zall will invest 2.6 billion yuan in construction.

This professional football stadium with over 60,000 seats will be benchmarked against the construction of world-class stadiums. It is the largest professional football stadium in Central China and one of the few in China.

The Airport International Sports Center is expected to be completed before March 2023 and put into operation in September of that year.

The football field will be used to host international football matches such as the World Club Cup, the Asian Cup and the top domestic leagues. It will also become the home stadium of the "Wuhan Team" in the Chinese Super League.

Prior to this, Wuhan City had constructed a number of large-scale football parks and more than 200 community football fields.

After the completion of the football field of the Airport International Sports Center, it will fill the gap of the first-class professional football field and become an important urban sports public facility for Wuhan to build an international exchange center.

It is reported that Zall Holdings has invested in professional football clubs for nearly 10 years, and its "Wuhan Team" is the only Chinese Super League team in Hubei.

In June 2019, the new base of the football club built by Zall invested 1 billion yuan was put into use.

After the completion of the professional football stadium this time, the "Wuhan Team" will also have a designated home stadium.

According to the plan, the Airport International Sports Center will also support the construction of a five-star hotel with an area of 35,000 square meters, as well as comprehensive sports facilities such as a fan club, a football bar, a health center, a fitness center, a youth training center apartment, and a recreational sports hall.

The second phase of the project will also build a basketball hall and clay tennis courts.

Professional football field brings top-level game watching experience

Only 3 cities in China have professional football stadiums

On the 23rd, Zall Holdings acquired three plots with a planned land area of 503,100 square meters in Panlongcheng Airport Area, and plans to build the Airport International Sports Center and other projects.

This high-standard urban sports facility will also become a new symbol of Wuhan's internationalization.

There is no track, the stars seem to be within reach

What is the concept of a professional football field?

What is the difference between it and the comprehensive stadium that everyone understands?

The Changjiang Daily reporter learned that the biggest difference between the two is whether to set up outdoor track and field competition venues. Of course, for sports fans, the most intuitive way to distinguish is very simple-there is a stadium with a track, and a professional football field without a track.

The concept of a professional football stadium appeared in Europe, the birthplace of modern football. It was born to bring fans closer to the stadium.

In the 2018 World Cup, a reporter interviewed the Brazilian team at the Sparta Stadium in Moscow. At that time, the distance between the reporter sitting in the front row and the sideline of the stadium was only three or four meters.

Without the barrier of the runway, the Brazilian star Neymar feels as if he is within reach when he rushes along the wing. For real fans, this kind of watching experience is undoubtedly top-notch.

Stadium renovation, Shanghai Hongkou is at the forefront

In China, the earliest professional football stadium appeared in Shanghai.

In 1998, the Hongkou Stadium was renovated. It was put into use in the 1999 season and became the first professional football stadium in China. It has been 22 years since it has been the home stadium of the Shanghai Shenhua team.

Of course, although Hongkou Stadium is a classic case of converting a comprehensive stadium into a professional football field, it is also an isolated case. For more than 20 years, no urban old stadium in any city can be converted into a professional football field.

The professional football stadiums that appeared after Hongkou were Tianjin TEDA Football Stadium and Chengdu Longquanyi Stadium, both of which were put into use in 2004.

Later, Tianjin also built Tuanbo Stadium, which is also a professional football stadium.

"Two Cups" are held, more than ten professional football stadiums are under construction

Two years ago, as the AFC announced that China had won the right to host the 2023 Asian Cup, the China Asian Cup Organizing Committee also promised that the current Asian Cup will be held in professional football stadiums, so the construction of professional football stadiums in China has been officially launched. The curtain opened.

Although Wuhan is not the host city of the Asian Cup, it is the host city of the World Club Cup, so it is also planned to start construction.

According to the reporter’s understanding, Beijing currently plans to rebuild the Workers’ Stadium, and Guangzhou, Guiyang, Suzhou (Kunshan), Wuhan, Xiamen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai (Pudong), Shenzhen, Nanjing, Dalian, Qingdao, and Xi’an will all build professional footballs. All the above-mentioned sites under construction are planned to be completed by the end of 2022 and will be put into use in 2023.
