Already at the beginning of the second period, Chicago acquired what would prove to be an unattainable lead when Carl Söderberg poked in 3-0.
- We worked well and came out strong and took control of the match.
Of course, we would have liked to have a slightly larger margin, but it feels good to be able to withstand a team that is very good at coming back in matches and putting pressure on one, says Patrick Kane who suited Söderberg's goal.
But Florida brought in, as I said, first through Anton Strålman who scored the team's 3-1 goal in the middle of second, and then in third through Alex Wennbers 3-2.
"Painted us in a corner"
- We had a bit of a tough start and painted like we were in a corner, but I like how we played at the end of the second and in the third.
We did not give up, says Florida's Noel Acciari, who assisted on both teams' goals.
Chicago has had a bit of an uphill climb and lost the previous four games.
- It's nice to break that suite and I think we have played well in recent matches, says Kane.
Florida's Alexander Barkov was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
