Calle Järnkrok had a successful week in the NHL for his Nashville.

When the week began with a strong 4-1 victory over Tampa Bay, the Swede was involved in everything with his four points through one goal and three assists.

When Nashville then met Florida and won a tight battle 2-1, Järnkrok stood for both goals.

Weak first half of the season

During Sunday night's only NHL game, Nashville was visiting Dallas.

Last season, Dallas went all the way to the Stanley Cup final where they finally fell to Tampa Bay.

This season, the team's scoring has been weak and they are at the bottom of the Central division - together with Nashville - after 28 games played.

Dallas' only Swede on the hill John Klingberg provided an assist in the match, but he was outshone by his countrymen on the other side.

Fredrik Forsberg scored, Mattias Ekholm provided an assist - and Calle Järnkrok would finally decide.

"Important week"

Dallas went up to a 2-0 lead after half the first period, but an effective Nashville worked its way back into the game which despite 30-22 in shots on goal in favor of the home team, went to extra time with a 3-3 result after 60 minutes.

The extra time ended goalless and the match to penalties where Calle Järnkrok decided.

It was the 29-year-old Swede's sixth point in four matches during the week that was.

- This was an important week for us.

We needed to find a way to score points and win matches which we did.

With 24 games left to play, we are in a position where we can continue to take steps upwards, says Järnkrok's teammate, Ryan Johansen, after the victory.
