The Japan Championships in Athletics, which competes for the Tokyo Paralympics representative, opened in Tokyo on the 20th, and a player from South Sudan, Africa, who is holding a long-term training camp in Maebashi City, also participated as a special case with the aim of participating in the Tokyo tournament.

The Para-Athletics Japan Championship will start in Tokyo from the 20th to the 2nd, and if you set a record of 6th place or less in the world ranking, you will be much closer to the Tokyo Paralympic Games' national team, so all the players aiming for the national team have come together.

South Sudan's Kutyan Michael Machik Ting (30), who has been holding a long-term training camp since November in Maebashi, the host town, was also allowed to participate in the tournament as a special case.

Michael, who has a disability in his right arm, participated in the men's 100 meters and competed in the same race as Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, relay bronze medalist Tomoki Tagawa.

Michael beat Tagawa in 11:42, updating his personal best by 0.17, and shook hands with Tagawa after the race.

Michael said, "I was very happy to run with Para for the first time and it was a good tournament that will lead to the future. I was able to run and learn with top Japanese players with the same disabilities, so I am positive for the Tokyo Paralympics. I want to work on it. "
