Markus Rejek still has vivid memories of his first days at Arminia Bielefeld.

No sooner had he started his job as managing director of the then second division club in October 2017, when he wondered whether he had just made the mistake of his life.

But the history of the traditional club, which was stumbling towards the third division, developed much better than expected.

But now there are new problems.

“We're currently flying blind,” says Rejek.
