The cause of the collapse is still unclear.
"I can't say more than that, everything is still uncertain," said Ben de Kok, the player's manager, earlier.

Van Barneveld, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2009, ended his successful career in December 2019, but returned to the professional tour that year and wrote a darts fairy tale.
