National coach Joachim Löw can use the national players employed in England in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The Duisburg health department announced on Thursday that “in accordance with the currently valid Corona entry regulations in North Rhine-Westphalia, approval for entry” can be given, according to a DFB announcement.

The Icelandic players, who are opponents of the German national team in Duisburg on March 25, can also enter.

The regulation generally provides for a special permit for travelers from Great Britain to exercise their profession, it said to explain.

However, this approval is tied to extremely strict additional requirements imposed by the German Football Association (DFB).

So there must be a "work quarantine" for Ilkay Gündogan, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Antonio Rüdiger and Bernd Leno after arriving from England.

Outside of the actual game, training and team meetings, the players concerned are not allowed to have any contact with other people.

Germany will also meet North Macedonia on March 31, also in Duisburg.

Moving the home games abroad was out of the question for national coach Löw.

“The coaches said we would follow the rules, we would not consider going abroad for an international match that would be played in Germany.

And if necessary, you would play without the England legionnaires, ”said DFB director Oliver Bierhoff.

Between the games in Duisburg, the national team will face Romania in Bucharest on March 28th.

The international triple pack marks the start of qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

For Löw, these are the first games after he announced his departure for the time after the EM in the summer.

They are also the last opportunity for the national coach to test personnel before the EM squad nomination in May.
