The American has competed in the World Cup for a full 17 years, so you probably understand that he has taken a lot of podium places during his career.

Not only that, he has two Olympic golds and five World Cup golds on his merit list.

Therefore, the slalom specialist decided to quit.

Schild is the little sister of the successful slalom star Marlies Schild - but did not manage to reach her sister's level.

She has been on the podium twelve times in the World Cup and has a World Cup bronze in sprint relay from Lahti 2017. But when her brother Erik Bjornsen chose to end her career last year, Sadie Maubet Bjornsen began to think about whether she should not do the same.

But the 31-year-old lasted for another year and immediately after the three miles in the World Cup, she said that her career is over.

• Mari Eide, 31, Norway

The World Cup bronze in sprint 2019 is Eide's biggest merit.

The medal was extra emotional when the Norwegian months before the championship had lost her big sister Ida, who tragically passed away after a cardiac arrest in an exercise race.

In the World Cup, Mari Eide has a victory and a third place in the team sprint.
