For the first time in almost 21 years, Leksand scored two goals in the same match in the highest league, with one man less on the ice.

That time, on September 24, 2000, they scored two goals in boxplay against Modo.

Both goals, incidentally made by Leksand's current assistant coach Mikael Karlberg.

On Thursday night, it was enough to defeat the bottom team Oskarshamn on home ice.

First through Otto Paajanen in the first period until 2-1, and then 3-1 in the same game form through Marek Hriivik in the third period.

It was a decisive match.

The match's only game goal in five against five was scored by Oskarshamn, when Max Veronneau shot 1-1 in a free position.

Veronneau, who by the way will be placed in Leksand next season.

Oskarshamn reduced to 3-2 with less than two minutes left in the game, in game six against five.

But never get closer than that.

Leksand took three points, and climbed to fifth place in the table and storms towards a top six position that means a direct place in the playoff quarterfinals.

For Oskarshamn, it was the third straight loss in a short time, and the team is firmly rooted in the bottom, where but goes a fight against mainly Brynäs to avoid the last two places where a team loses its SHL status.

When Oskarshamn coach Martin Filander summed up the match, it was Leksand's boxplay goal that he scored.

- We made a damn good match, but it is not enough to let in two goals in our own powerplay.

It costs us the match, says Martin Filander.
