The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has buried this Wednesday the wishes of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) that the final of the Copa del Rey 2020 that will be played by Athletic and Real Sociedad on April 3 in La Cartuja is held with an audience in the stands.

"It is not adequate, it is not appropriate and it is not convenient. It is not possible," Darias has settled after the Interterritorial Health Council held this Wednesday.

Darias has wanted to be forceful and has brought the issue to the fore without the need for any journalist to ask her about it.

"We all want to be in person again at these events, but they will understand that this is not the time," added the head of Health, who intends to reach a consensus with the Junta de Andalucía on this decision, but making it clear that the party will have to be played behind closed doors.

The 'Cadena Ser' had reported this morning that both that final and the one that

Athletic

and

Barcelona will play

two weeks later, on

April 17

, would be held with the public.

Specifically, with a capacity of between 20% and 25%, which would mean the presence of around 15,000 fans in the Sevillian stadium.

All, of course, should be Andalusian, given the autonomous confinement imposed for Holy Week.

A period in which, as Darias recalled, there is a commitment by the Autonomous Communities not to hold "massive events that involve crowds of people."

A conclave pending for weeks

Actually, that was the wish that the RFEF planned to transmit this Thursday to Athletic, Real Sociedad, Junta de Andalucía and CSD in the meeting called this morning to organize the preparations for the final.

A conclave pending for weeks, although without a fixed date, and in which it was already planned to evaluate if the final could be disputed with the public.

The Basque Government had reacted to this information by positioning itself radically against it, at the expense of receiving the appropriate explanations at the Interterritorial Health Council on Wednesday.

And, although the presence of fans from the Basque Country was not going to be allowed, there were already those who were looking for tricks to be able to be in Seville on April 3.
