Postponing the disclosure of the "Gulf 25" host

The Arab Gulf Cup Football Association today postponed the determination of the nomination of the country that will host the next edition of the Gulf Cup, "Gulf 25", after a meeting of the heads of the federations who represent the union’s general assembly, provided that the meeting will be held within a month.

The Gulf Federation said, during a press statement, that it had reviewed the Executive Office's report on the report of the committee to study the files of hosting the Gulf Arab 25, and recommended that a meeting of the heads of federations be held within one month to take the final decision to name the organizing country.

The Iraqi Federation had submitted a request to host the championship in Basra, but security difficulties may stand in the way of the Gulf Federation’s approval of such hosting.

The Executive Office decided to grant an additional deadline to the Iraqi Federation.

He emphasized that the only file that was discussed was the Iraqi file.
