Linn Blohm and the Swedish national handball team are currently charging for their Olympic qualifiers, where matches against Spain and Argentina await.

Blohm tells SVT Sport about the upcoming qualifiers but also about what it is like to gather with the national team again and how her own season has been.

- It's great fun to meet the girls and represent the national team again.

It's fun to be up and running, especially on a week like this when it's Olympic qualifiers, says Blohm.

"Gained a lot of trust"

Since the autumn of 2020, the midfielder has played with his Romanian club team, CS Minaur Baia Mare.

But in February, it was confirmed that the 28-year-old will leave Romania this summer for games with Hungarian, Györi Audi ETO KC.

- My season has been special with a new life in Romania.

But then all this with corona has been where we did not have

a

home match but where all the teams went to one and the same place to play a match.

It has been a lot of traveling by bus, says Blohm about the season and continues:

- But in terms of handball, it has gone well.

I have gained a lot of confidence, a lot of playing time and it has been fun to try something completely new.

For us as a team, it has also gone well, so it's fun.

On Friday, Sweden will first face Spain in the Olympic qualifiers before Argentina waits for Saturday.

It is the first meeting with Spain that will be a main match, says Blohm.

"Can understand the idea"

She can also understand people who say that Sweden has received a dream draw.

- I can understand that considering that we are only two teams from Europe and it is often the teams that are just tough.

Now we have also lost a team in our group (Senegal) and have only two matches to play.

The first match is guaranteed to be a big key match for us.

Blohm continues:

- I can understand the idea, but Argentina is definitely not a team that you just run over but even there we need to do a great job as well.

We will put all the gunpowder on the first match and want to win over Spain.

Argentina's match against us will also be their first, so it can be very special.

Want to take Sweden there again

Linn Blohm was involved in representing Sweden during the 2016 Olympics. Now she is looking forward to taking Sweden to a new Olympic game.

- It is of course huge to be able to go and represent Sweden at an Olympics.

No one has any idea what it will be like and is now implemented with corona.

You can take everything as it is right now, but if we get there it will be very big.
