He was 81 years old.

Daniel Eon, goalkeeper of FC Nantes for twelve seasons, from 1956 to 1968, participating in 144 matches in the yellow and green jersey, died Monday evening, said the FCN on Tuesday noon.

This native of Saint-Nazaire won the club's first two French championship titles, in 1965 and 1966, under the leadership of José Arribas.

He had also been loaned to FC Yonnais (CFA, 1960-1961), one of the clubs at the time of La Roche-sur-Yon in Vendée.

FC Nantes had the great sadness to learn this Tuesday morning of the death of 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗘́𝗼𝗻 (81 years old), former goalkeeper of the Jaune et Vert and double French Champion in D1 with the Club.

Daniel Eon had been French international three times and even captain twice.

He was to participate in the 1966 World Cup, but unfortunately he ruptured the Achilles tendon during the 38th and final day of the Championship against Cannes (5-1).

He was injured while jumping for joy to celebrate a goal from his partner Philippe Gondet.

The World Cup then flew for him.
