The famous other side of the coin.

The opening of the ticket office for the 2023 Rugby World Cup caused an underrated tsunami of connections to the event site, leading to slowdowns for some users.

As a result, there are "disappointed" people, the organization said on Tuesday.

The latter welcomed in a press release an "unprecedented success in the history of sport" on the occasion of the launch of the "presale" of the first packs, by city or by team.

The importance of ticketing

"This first phase did not allow all rugby lovers to get the places they could hope for", admitted the organizers while many supporters had expressed the day before on social networks of difficulties to connect to the site.

"France 2023 is sorry for all the disappointed of the first day", they added, giving an appointment for the next phases of ticket sales, March 18 and April 6.

In total, 2.6 million tickets will be available for sale across the competition.

Ticket sales represent around 85% of the organizing committee's receipts.
