Mesonero-Romanos. "If Dacia disappeared we would miss her"
Dacia Duster. Full throttle (LPG)
The cheapest electric car in Europe is about to reach the Spanish market.
Although the prices that will govern in Spain have not yet been uncovered, they have done so in France, where you can buy the Dacia Spring, the first 100% electric model of the Romanian brand of the Renault Group, at a price that starts at
12,403 euros
.
This price has been leaked from a source close to the company according to several French specialized publications.
The final amount includes the aid and
subsidies granted by the French Government through the so-called 'ecological voucher'
, since the price without official aid for the Dacia Spring will reach 16,990 in its most basic format, with the Comfort Access finish, which includes air conditioning.
In Spain, the access version of the Dacia Sandero Stepway with 90 hp and 6-speed manual transmission costs 12,800.
According to the same sources,
the Comfort Plus version of the Dacia Spring
, which includes a multimedia system with a touch screen and metallic paint (white or light gray), is on sale in France from
18,490 euros, 13,500
with maximum state aid,
exactly the same that costs in Spain the top-of-the-range version of the Dacia Sandero Stepway with a bifuel gasoline and LPG engine
(called ECO-G) with the Comfort finish and a maximum power of 100 HP.
In Spain there are still no official prices for the Dacia Spring, but according to sources consulted by EL MUNDO they could be
very similar to those of the French market
.
What the brand has confirmed is that "the prices published by France are correct in France, we do not have the prices available here yet."
10,000 euros in Spain?
With the current aid from the Moves II Plan and the next Moves III, which are about to be approved by the Government, the price of the Dacia Spring could be around 10,000 euros in Spain.
With a starting price similar to that of France (16,990 euros), the final price in Spain with aid and discounts (6,500 euros between the public subsidy and the contribution of the brand) would remain at 10,490 euros, about
900 euros more 'expensive' than the Dacia Sandero Access petrol with 65 hp and 5-speed manual gearbox (9,600 euros)
.
The Dacia Spring will be available for pre-reservations in France on March 20 (next week), they will be able to be confirmed in June and
the first deliveries will take place in September
.
A Pass Card will also be offered for the first orders and
a 100 euro
top-up
will be given away for customers who opt for the Comfort Plus finish
.
In Spain you can also make reservations very soon and the first units will arrive after the summer.
The Dacia Spring promises an electric range of 230 kilometers in WLTP combined cycle, expandable up to 305 kilometers in exclusively urban use.
Of course,
the electric motor of the 'low cost' battery has a fairly modest power of 44 HP
(33 kW) with a maximum torque of 125 Nm, so it offers somewhat limited performance: 125 km / h top speed and 19.1 seconds in the 'sprint' from 0-100 km / h (5.8 seconds from 0 to 50 km / h), which greatly restricts its use to urban environments.
Loading times
In terms of charging times, Dacia promises
less than an hour for an 80% charge
and less than 1.5 hours for a 100% charge on a
30 kW direct current (DC) fast charger
.
In case of plugging it into a 7.4 kW Wallbox, we will achieve a 100% charge in less than 5 hours, while in a
3.7 kW
charger we will
invest 8.5 hours and a little less than 14 hours in an outlet. 2.3 kW household current
.
With a compact size of 3,734 mm long, 1,579 mm wide (with the mirrors folded) and 1,516 mm high, the Dacia Spring is a
slightly smaller
elevated body electric utility (not quite a full-fledged SUV).
than the Sandero Stepway
.
The cabin seats
four people
and the boot is also slightly smaller than that of the Stepway, with a volume of 290 liters expandable to 620 liters with the rear seats folded down.
