It was a lost point in a match that Sweden looked to win but the sack was not tied together.

With 27 seconds left, Jim Gottfridsson's shot was saved and Germany took out the goalkeeper to play seven against six.

With five seconds left, Marcel Schiller stepped forward on the left wing and pulled the ball in through the floor for 25-25 and a wild German cheer erupted.

Burned free kick that had given 25-21

It was a dramatic final minute.

Germany took a timeout with six minutes left at a 21-24 deficit and Felix Claar had a free kick to make it 25-21 and decide the match but goalkeeper Johannes Bitter, who grew into a giant, saved.

Goalkeeper Andreas Palicka played great after the break when Sweden turned a disadvantage and could go from the lead with three balls on several occasions.

Sweden had several chances to decide the match but the Germans kept coming back.

It was the first Olympic qualifying match of three for Sweden in Berlin.

Meetings with Algeria and Slovenia await this weekend.

Just hours before the start of the match, key player Hampus Wanne left the team for personal reasons.
