The Para-Alpine Skiing Asia Cup held in Nagano Prefecture was a giant slalom on the 10th of the second day of the tournament, and 40-year-old Taiki Morii, who is aiming to win the long-sought gold medal at the Beijing Paralympics next year, won the championship.

The tournament has been held in Sugadairakogen, Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture since the 9th, and you can earn points to decide the participation quota of each country of the Beijing Paralympics.

On the second day, a giant slalom between men and women took place, and Morii, who has won four silver medals and one bronze medal at the Paralympics, participated in a men's sitting and sliding class.

The start of the competition was delayed by about 2 hours due to the heavy fog, but Morii showed accurate sliding even on the rough snow surface, which he is not good at, and the total time of 2 times multiplied by the coefficient according to the obstacle is 2 minutes. I won the championship by marking 2 seconds 34.

During the absence of the competition due to the influence of the new coronavirus, Morii practiced to improve the accuracy of turns and line taking in order to improve slipping on rough snow surface, and also set chair skis. As a result of the adjustments, we have demonstrated the results of our practice, following the two consecutive victories in the Super-G on the 9th at the tournament where we participated for the first time this season.

Morii said, "I haven't been able to make a slip in practice yet, so I'd like to fix it. At the Beijing Paralympics next year, I'll do my best so that I can put on a gold medal that I haven't won yet." I was talking.

The tournament will be a giant slalom on the 11th, and Morii will aim for consecutive wins.
