Imobili receives the 2020 Golden Boot

Ciro Immobile, the striker of the Italian soccer team Lazio, received the 2020 Golden Boot award, which he won, at a ceremony at the headquarters of the Italian capital, Rome, his club announced today, Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Italian international said, "My team-mates did a great effort to get me to score. I really did everything in my power for that. I managed to win this award beating the great champions."

Immobile scored 36 goals last season in the Italian league, topping the list of scorers in the domestic leagues in Europe, beating his closest stalker Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich striker.

Immobile was able to equal the record for the most goals scored in a single season, which Argentine Gonzalo Higuain has held since 2016 with his team.

Immobili is spending his fifth season with Lazio, where he scored 14 goals in the Italian league this season, and is currently ranked fourth in the ranking of the top scorer in the local competition, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, the top scorer of the Juventus team, with 20 goals.
