David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig had a good day in Doha.
First, the Canadians Saxton and O'Gorman were defeated 2-0 in sets (21-15, 21-15) to advance from the group stage.
And in the first round there was another 2-0 victory for the Swedes when they won over Ermacora and Pristauz, Austria, with 21-19, 21-14.
In the second round, however, it stopped.
After winning an even first set with 21-18, they were never close to winning the second that Evandro and Guto won with a clear 21-13.
In the third it got really tight again and it would be decided late.
It was 16-14 to the Brazilian team after Jonatan Hellvig's last ball went a little too far and ended up on the wrong side of the line.
It thus became a shared ninth place for Åhman and Hellvig in the world tournament where most of the world elite participated.
