Dominic Paris was in the lead in Saalbach's downhill race before fog and snowfall put a stop to continued competition.

After a little over an hour of waiting and meetings about whether the competition should be broken or not, the expected decision came that the competition was canceled.

The Swedish skiers Felix Monsén and Olle Sundin never had time to start.

Instead, there will be new attempts tomorrow Saturday to run the weekend's second planned downhill race in Saalbach.

It is not decided when today's competition will be held.
