The Champions League round of 16 second leg between Liverpool and Leipzig will take place, as in the first leg, in Budapest, due to travel restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, UEFA announced on Thursday.

Had the match been in England, Leipzig, who lost 2-0 in the first leg, would have had to observe a strict ten-day quarantine on their return, in accordance with authorities' guidelines to curb the spread of the British variant of the coronavirus .

An instruction that is difficult to accept for a pro team that plays matches every three days.
