The president was however present Monday in front of the press to explain the reasons for the departure of his coach Julien Stéphan, who had just resigned from the club.

Appointed in April 2020, Nicolas Holveck had been working for a few days on the arrival of a new coach for his first team.

He was to welcome Bruno Genesio in the next few days.

Currently tenth in Ligue 1, Stade Rennais remains on five consecutive defeats in the league.

He has only taken two points out of 21 possible since January 17 and his victory snatched against Brest.

A club described as "in crisis" by President Holveck even before the defeat in Lyon (1-0) on Wednesday.

The manager was under pressure and had to deal with this shortage of results, the postponement of the match against OM and the recent departure of coach Julien Stéphan.
