Gold-hunting Storvreta has suffered a setback before the end of the season and before the playoffs.
Today, the club announced via a press release on its website that Alexander Rudd is taking a break from representing the club.
"As it has become known that a prosecution awaits Storvreta IBK's player Alexander Rudd, the association together with Alexander Rudd have agreed that he will for the time being take a break from floorball and from representing Storvreta IBK," the club writes and then continues:
"Storvreta IBK wants to be clear that we strongly dissociate ourselves from what the player is accused of, but will support the man Alexander in the tough time he is now going through.
The break from floorball is indefinitely where we are awaiting the development of the prosecution, but we do not expect Alexander Rudd to play more this season. "
Previously convicted of drunk driving
For Storvreta, who currently tops the SSL table with eight points, the national team player's break will be a break in the gold hunt.
