Sieb Dijkstra hired a lawyer on Thursday to challenge his forced departure from Fortuna Sittard's first team.

The goalkeeper coach was returned to the youth academy after a heated conflict with trainer Sjors Ultee about attracting Piet Velthuizen.

54-year-old Dijkstra demands rectification from Fortuna Sittard, after the club had described him as unreliable.

"My image is seriously damaged in this way," the goalkeeper coach told



"We have to solve it properly and I prefer to do that with the help of a lawyer. It is a pity that it has to be this way, but the working relationship is seriously disrupted in this way. For example, a role within the youth academy as goalkeeper coach does not make sense to me. . "

On Friday afternoon, a meeting is scheduled between Dijkstra and the club management about the settlement of the contract that expires this season.

'Sieb discredits Sjors and the club'

When Fortuna was recently looking for a new goalkeeper, Dijkstra recommended Austrian Tobias Knoflach.

However, the club opted for Velthuizen, who had not made any plans for three years.

Dijkstra saw during the training that the 34-year-old Velthuizen was not fit, but Ultee still pitted him against FC Groningen.
