The ARD “Sportschau” is getting a new presenter: Esther Sedlaczek will be leading the show from the coming summer.

The 35-year-old changes from Sky to the first and replaces Matthias Opdenhövel, who will not extend his contract with ARD, which is valid until July.

Sedlaczek will also moderate the “Sportschau” on Sunday as well as live football broadcasts.

“The last ten years have been a great time for me,” said the 50-year-old Opdenhövel: “Because I was able to live out my versatility in sport.

In the 'Sportschau', at ski jumping and at major football events.

With the absolute highlight of the 2014 World Cup final in the Maracana.

I had a lot of fun with it.

But now it's time for something new.

I am looking forward."

Sedlaczek has been working for Sky in soccer reporting for ten years, initially she was a field reporter, and since 2012 she has also been a presenter.

The daughter of the actor Sven Martinek ("The Clown") prevailed among 2,700 candidates in a casting by Sky and BILD.

The start for Sedlaczek in the first is in August, at the same time as the start of the new rights period in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Sky not only loses Sedlaczek, but also Jessica Libbertz.

The 46-year-old has been working for the station for 17 years.

The 46-year-old is withdrawing voluntarily, although she recently extended her contract with the broadcaster by option until 2022.

This is reported by BILD.

In the past year, Libbertz suffered from a sore rose on his face and had to take a break for several weeks.

She has now completely recovered.

In the future she wants to concentrate on her work for the Fifa soccer magazine “Living Football” and book projects.
