Jonna Sundling lost twelve seconds on the first leg of the relay, where Sweden finished sixth.

Charlotte Kalla slipped a full minute and 27 seconds behind.

While Ebba Andersson went 20 seconds slower than Therese Johaug on the third leg, and Frida Karlsson went evenly with Helene Marie Fossesholm who arranged the gold for Norway.

Sweden's election manager Petter Myhlback explained his view of the relay and the skiing situation.

- It was very clear that they (Sundling and Kalla) had bad skis today.

I'm so sorry for that, and I'm just sorry, he tells SVT Sport.

What does it depend on?

- We have an idea that has gone to the forest, we have made a wall miss.

It affects the riders.

How is it for the wall team on a day like this?

- It's a real shitty day, we had high expectations and then it crashes right into the ditch.
