In yesterday's match between Luleå and Frölunda, Frölunda captain Lundqvist tackled 21-year-old Carl Mattsson in the head.
Mattsson was forced to leave the match.
SHL's situation room chose to report the incident to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee, which has now sentenced Lundqvist for the tackle.
Domen?
Suspension from Frölunda's five next matches in the SHL and SEK 22,500 in fines.
More players suspended
However, the match between Förlunda and Luleå was not the only rough match.
Of the six matches, four contained match penalties and three of the players were reported by the situation room.
Rögle's Eric Gelina had to face the same tough fate as Lundqivst, and Djurgården's Albin Grewe was suspended for two matches.
That is why Lundqvist was convicted
According to the disciplinary committee, tackling took place with an upward movement with the left shoulder on the puck guide, which in itself, according to them, was tackable.
He was also convicted because of the risk of injury, and because Lundqvist had previously been in a similar situation.
