"We will take World Athletics to the European Court of Justice," said Semenya's lawyer Gregory Nott in a statement, without specifying a date.

Semenya, who has won two Olympic gold medals and three World Cup gold medals in the 800 meters, has for a long time led the legal process against the International Athletics Federation and was previously rejected by the Sports Arbitration Court Cas and in Swiss court.

In 2018, World Athletics, formerly the IAAF, decided that Semenya and other female middle distance runners must lower their naturally high testosterone levels in order to continue competing at distances between 400 meters and one English mile.

Semenya has said no to being medicated and thus missed the World Cup in Doha last year.

She thus does not look like she will start in the Olympics in Tokyo this summer.
