Super talent and TV star

His father started teaching him golf when he was one year old.

At the age of two, he had become so good that he appeared on the television program Mike Douglas Show to show off his skills.

When he was five years old, he appeared in the television program "That's Incredible" and in the golf magazine Golf Digest.

He won the national junior championship six times before reaching the age of 16.

Tiger Woods is also the only one to have won the American Amateur Championship three times in a row, between 1994 and 1996.

He has denied that his father would have pushed him too hard.

“My dad never asked me to play golf, I asked him.

It is the child's desire that matters, not the parent's desire to see their child play, ”he said.

15 major victories and "Tiger slam"

In 1997, Tiger Woods won his first major title when he won the US Masters.

This meant that the then 21-year-old Tiger Woods became the youngest player ever to win a major, and the first African-American player to succeed in the feat.

Jack Nicklaus is otherwise the only male player who has taken more majors than Tiger Woods.

Nicklaus won 18 majors during his career, Tiger Woods stands on 15 victories, as many as Patty Berg who won the most on the women's side ..

He is the only golfer ever to win four majors in a row, winning the US Open, British Open and PGA Championship in 2000, and the US Masters in 2001. The achievement was called "Tiger slam".

Tiger Woods, along with Sam Snead, has won the most PGA tournaments of all time with 82 wins.

The marriage scandal

On November 27, 2009, Tiger Woods crashed into a fire extinguisher at his home in Florida.

His Swedish wife Elin Nordegren had to smash the window with a golf club to get her husband out of the car.

But the aftermath of the accident was about something completely different.

Information emerged about two different infidelity deals.

The rumors were then confirmed when one of the women revealed intimate messages between her and Tiger Woods.

Her openness led to more women stepping forward and telling the same thing.

It was a hard blow for Tiger Woods who had to take a break from golf to work on his marriage and his image.

“I had business and I was unfaithful.

What I did was unacceptable.

"I have hurt my wife, my children, my mother, my wife's mother, my friends, my foundation and all the children around the world who admire me," he said in a statement after the events.

However, the break was not very long.

He made a comeback in the US Masters in 2010, and his marriage to Elin Nordegren ended later that year.

The damage

In 2008 and 2009, Tiger Woods had problems with a heel, something that became recurring in 2011 and 2012 as well.

But his biggest injury problem has been his back.

In 2014, he stood over the US Masters for the first time since 1994 due to back surgery.

The following year, for the first time in his career, he missed the cut to two straight majors (US Open and British Open), again it was the back injury that haunted.

He then underwent three more back surgeries between 2015 and 2017.

He underwent his fifth back operation at the end of last year.

The perfect return

When he made a comeback in the Hero World Challenge 2017, after several years of back problems, he was ranked 1199th in the world before the competition.

A shared ninth place in the return basically halved that ranking.

But the climb to the top of the world began in earnest in 2018. He finished second in the last major of the year, the PGA Championships, his best major placement since 2009. He also took his first victory on the PGA Tour since 2013.

And it would be better.

The unlikely comeback culminated when the then 43-year-old Tiger Woods won his 15th major in his career at Augusta in the US Masters 2019. His first major title in eleven years, and his first victory in the US Masters since 2005.
