China News Service, February 24. The Chinese Football Association announced on its official website on the 24th that it will select the U16 national men's football team coach. The goal is to lead the team to participate in the 2022 U17 Asian Cup preliminaries and enter the final stage of the competition, and strive to win 2023. Qualification for the U17 World Cup.
The Football Association also stated in the announcement that the selection is “to take a long-term view and prepare well in advance for the 2028 Olympic Games and recent FIFA and AFC related events”.
The task indicators proposed in the notice are:
1. Comprehensively improve the technical and tactical level of U16 national men's football team members, and train more outstanding players for the national team;
2. Participate in the 2022 U17 Asian Cup preliminaries and enter the finals, and strive to qualify for the 2023 U17 World Cup;
3. Participate in the 2024 U20 Asian Cup preliminaries and enter the finals, and strive to qualify for the 2025 U20 World Cup;
4. Prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and strive to qualify for the Olympic finals.
The specific selection conditions are:

(1) Have a good professional quality and ideological and moral standards;
(2) It is necessary to hold the AFC professional level coach qualification certificate or hold the equivalent level certificate issued by other intercontinental football federation, and within the validity period;
(3) Having a richer professional football player experience and a strong professional level (those with national team sports experience is preferred);
(4) Familiar with the youth football situation in Asia and China;
(5) Be good at managing the team, be able to show others, unite and cooperate, and lead the team to work hard to achieve the expected goals;
(6) In good health, able to meet the needs of the team's training and preparation work, and in principle no more than 60 years old;
(7) The past coaching experience of the registered coach must meet one of the following conditions:
1. Served as the head coach of the U15 and above national team;
2. Served as the head coach or assistant coach of mainstream professional league teams in Asia or other continents;
(8) Nationality is not limited.
According to the notice, the registration time for this selection is from now until 24:00 on March 2, 2021.
Subsequently, the Chinese Football Association National Team Coach Selection Expert Committee will conduct qualification review of all applicants, and select 3-5 candidates.
