Violent incidents broke out on Saturday, January 30 at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus center, the training center of the Olympique de Marseille team.

On Wednesday, fourteen club supporters were tried at the Marseille Criminal Court.

Only one of the defendants recognized damage.

An OM supporter was sentenced Wednesday to 3 months in prison and 11 others to 6 months suspended prison sentence for the incidents that occurred at the Commanderie by the Marseille Criminal Court, which released two defendants.

The prosecutor had requested against these supporters 13 8-month suspended prison sentences, and a 4-month firm sentence without a committal warrant for a 14th who had already been convicted of theft.

It was the latter who received the heaviest sentence on Wednesday evening.

At the helm, OM supporters followed one another during the day, trying to justify themselves in a series of deaf dialogues with the president.

"I did not think it was going to degenerate so much, I followed stupidly, like a donkey", assures Mehdy, a 25 year old unemployed person in blue fleece who admits having taken part in the demonstration but denies any degradation: "I took pictures, I said to myself 'it's time to see the Commandery from the inside' ".

Aged 19 to 37, the 14 defendants come from Marseille for a minority, and elsewhere in France for the most part.

87,000 euros of damage

Saturday January 30, 2:35 p.m., a few hours before the OM meeting against Rennes which will finally be postponed, some 300 supporters had arrived at the Commanderie, most of them dressed in black, hoods over their heads.

In the viewfinder of the fans, heated by a succession of disappointing sporting results: players, but especially the president of the club Jacques-Henri Eyraud, contested for several months already.

Incidents broke out quickly, in front of the training center, but also inside, where a few dozen supporters managed to enter.

Offices are degraded, like vehicles, gates or fences.

The club has estimated the cost of damage at at least 87,000 euros, details one of its lawyers.

The pressure has not fallen on OM

Seven police officers were slightly injured and three of their vehicles damaged.

About twenty supporters will be immediately questioned.

"There have been abuses, except that the real perpetrators are still in the wild, why? And bah quite simply when the crowd dispersed, the police (...) managed to catch some without even know what they had done or not, "reacted on the sidelines of the hearing, Me Nicolas Besset, lawyer for two defendants.

Since then, the pressure around the Marseille club has not abated: gathered a few days ago for a rare joint press conference, the six groups of supporters have again requested the departure of Jacques-Henri Eyraud.

The management of the club threatened to break the agreement between OM and the six associations.
