The American Grant Holloway, 2019 world champion in the 110m hurdles, broke the world record in the 60m hurdles at the Madrid indoor meeting on Wednesday.

Grant Holloway (23) ran in 7 seconds and 29 hundredths to erase the old world record of Briton Colin Jackson (7 seconds 30) set in March 1994.

In great shape, Holloway had already run 32 hundredths in the heats in 7 seconds an hour and a half earlier, making it the second best world performance of all time (now the third).

Very consistent this winter, the American ran seven times in less than 7 seconds and 40 hundredths in ten races, a time that no other athlete has managed to approach.
