Question:

Mr. Harting, why do we only have one Malaika Mihambo - and no new Harting in sight?

Robert Harting:

Germany used to benefit from the good density of athletes from the time of the transition.

This generation trained under pressure nine to twelve times a week to compete with the best in the world.

Today it is said that we do not want to compete with the big players like the USA or China.

We prefer to be doping-free, which is also good.

Question:

Would you still advise a child to become a track and field athlete today?
