Mikaela Shiffrin has won World Cup gold in slalom the last four championships.

Today it was time to drive home a fifth straight gold.

But it was not a good start.

With start number four, she reached the finish line a full 1.30 seconds behind leader Katharina Liensberger.

- It is the championship only continues to surprise, says SVT Sports expert Pernilla Wiberg.

The Austrian Liensberger was responsible for a cannon ride and only Petra Vlhova is nearby.

The Slovak is three tenths behind, then there is a big jump down to third Wendy Holdener, who is 1.24 behind.

Although Shiffrin is far behind Liensberger, she has six hundredths up to the podium.

Strong ride by Wikström

Emelie Wikström was the first of today's Swedes.

With a good finish, she came down to the finish as sixth, 2.03 behind, but has been knocked down to seventh place.

- Fun to see, says Wiberg.

Sara Hector has start number 22 and Elsa Fermbäck 41.

The competition is ongoing.
