As the number of competitions has decreased due to the influence of the new coronavirus, a speed skating competition newly established by the Japan Skating Federation has started in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, and top athletes have entered the race as if they were actually fighting.

Japanese speed skating athletes are less likely to fight than usual due to the cancellation of the tournament due to the influence of the new coronavirus and the postponement of dispatch to the international tournament this season for the Beijing Olympics next year. I will.

For this reason, the Japan Skating Federation's Speed Skating Strengthening Department has set up two informal competitions this month in order to maintain the motivation of the athletes and gain experience close to the actual competition, and the first competition will start in Aomori from the 19th. It started in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture.

On the first day, men's and women's 500 meters and 1000 meters were held, and in the men's 500 meters, Uma Murakami, who won the All Japan Championship last December, took first place with 34.67 seconds, which is faster than the link record.

Murakami said, "It's difficult to evaluate slippage if you just practice. I'm grateful that you can race like a real race. It was a fruitful race."

This competition will run until the 21st.
